Choosing Your Mission

Choices That Shape the Warped Universe

Missions in Warped Universe serve as the lifeblood of the metagame, with each decision directly impacting the balance, expansion, and survival of the Warped Universe. From the Nexus Station, players will be able to interact with a real-time 3D map of the solar system, offering a dynamic and visually immersive way to track planetary progress, facility development, and regions under threat from the Void. This feature will deepen immersion by allowing players to strategically choose missions based on real-time data, ensuring their actions leave a lasting impact with every play session.

The Impact of Missions on the Warped Universe

Below are some examples of how missions will shape both personal growth and the broader progression of the metagame:

  • Collecting Residuum: Expedite the development of new planets, facilities, and technologies while advancing personal progression through claiming end-of-mission rewards.

  • Defending Assets: The protection of planets, outposts, and facilities from Void assaults will be critical to ensuring their continued functionality and survival, with implications for both the Warped Universe and personal development.

  • Convoy Defense: Escorting critical supplies and reinforcements to sustain outposts and facilities will be essential for long-term survival and success.

  • Shifting the Light/Gravity Balance: Aligning with either the Luminaries or Foundationalists when completing missions will sway the balance toward light or gravity, impacting the universe's dynamic for all players, for better or worse.

These examples illustrate how players’ choices will impact not only their own progression but also the progression of the Warped Universe itself. The Warped Universe will be a fragile, dynamic environment that must be balanced through collective decision-making and collaboration, not solely personal ambition.

Genre and Gameplay Variety

As highlighted in Choosing Your Genre, players have the freedom to decide how they approach each mission. Certain missions may lend themselves better to turn-based strategy for tactical depth or real-time action for immersive intensity. This variety ensures that no two missions feel alike and offers players the flexibility to tailor their experience based on their preferred playstyle.

Designed for Collaboration

Missions in Warped Universe foster collaboration, with objectives designed for cooperative play. Players can join forces to tackle larger threats, such as Void invasions, or to achieve ambitious goals like building a planet to uncover new resources and technologies. Working together on shared objectives enables greater rewards and amplifies the impact of co-op PvE gameplay.
