  1. Mission Rewards and Player Progression

Artifractal Cores

The Core of Progression

Artifractal Cores will allow players to acquire new equipment, such as weapons, armor, or ship components. Available in different rarities, they determine the base statistics and number of attributes applied to the equipment, combining strategic choice with an element of discovery.

Earning Artifractal Cores

Earned as part of a player’s end-of-mission rewards, Artifractal Cores are obtained by allocating Residuum collected from a mission for them. This ensures that advancing equipment is directly tied to a player’s effort and current needs.

Artifractal Core Rarity and Their Impact on Equipment

Artifractal Cores come in different rarities, which determine both the number of attributes and the range of statistics applied to the equipment when claimed. Higher rarity Cores provide better opportunities for stronger and more numerous attributes, while lower rarity Cores have more modest ranges and attributes.

The attributes and their values are randomized within a specific range based on the Core’s rarity.

For example: A player uses a low-tier Artifractal Core to obtain a rifle. The result might include:

  • 3 random attributes, such as +10% Damage, +5% Fire Rate, and +3% Accuracy.

If the player is unsatisfied with these attributes, they can spend another Artifractal Core to create a new version of the rifle in the hope of getting better attributes within the Artifractal Core’s range. A higher-tier Artifractal Core could increase their chance to generate more attributes (e.g., 4–5) and within a higher statistical range (e.g., +15% Damage or +10% Accuracy).

Disclaimer: The numbers in this example are for illustrative purposes only and do not represent finalized game specifications.

Summary

Players acquire Artifractal Cores as mission rewards, select the type of equipment to craft at the dedicated workstation on the Nexus Station, and spend Nexite to finalize the process. The Artifractal Core’s rarity determines the range of randomized attributes, and players can spend another Artifractal Core for an opportunity to get a more optimized base specification.
